In 1978, the Palm Beach County Council of the Arts was made by Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr.. The chamber's objectives centered around the advancement of nearby expressions, and tried to make a noteworthy performing expressions focus following the accomplishment of the Palm Beach Playhouse. In 1986, companions of Raymond F. Kravis raised a million gift in his respect, starting development for the inevitable 1992 opening. The gift, headed by Leonard Davis and Merrill Bank, developed to million preceding 1992, and the two stay on the Center's board of trustees.
